General setup information

We recommend using the NCAlgebra package with the most recent version of Macaulay2.

Many of the methods in the NCAlgebra package rely on J. Backelin's noncommutative Groebner basis program Bergman. In the future, we may add support for other programs which compute Groebner bases, but for now, users must have Bergman installed.

Detailed instructions for installing Bergman, as well as the NCAlgebra system, can be found in the file installNCAlgebra.txt file contained in the NCAlgebra package directory. It may also be found at https://github.com/Macaulay2/M2/blob/master/M2/Macaulay2/packages/NCAlgebra/installNCAlgebra.txt.
